PRP Therapy
At present, PRP therapy is the most updated and popular treatment for hair. It is renowned in many developed countries. We have successfully managed to start this treatment in our country, and its popularity is increasing day by day.
What is PRP therapy?
PRP, also known as "Platelet Rich Plasma therapy," is processed molecular plasma. Growth factor is extracted from the blood by separating the molecules in a specialized process. This growth factor is then delivered to the hair follicles through a syringe, which stimulates the hair follicles and hair cells to promote new hair growth.
Who can take PRP?
There is no specific age for taking PRP, but the most obvious results are observed at the age of 20–40. This treatment is applicable for hair problems in both genders.
However, if someone does not have hair follicles on the scalp, that is, if hair follicles have been extinct without treatment for a long time, then the chances of success are less. That is why PRP should be done after consulting with an experienced doctor (a trichologist).
Time and Session:
PRP takes place in 2 phases, the first being the initial phase, which comprises 6 sessions to be taken every 2 to 4 weeks. Next is the maintenance phase, whose sessions can vary depending on the patient’s condition. Improvement can be noticed in 3–4 sessions. For best results, PRP should be taken together with some related medicines. It usually takes 30-45 minutes to complete a PRP session.
Benefits:
PRP is relatively free of side effects because it is taken from one’s own blood.
It helps grow new hair. It also helps diseased and unnourished hair grow thick and healthy and makes it shiny.
Caution:
If you have a skin disease on the scalp, you should consult with your specialized doctor. Above all, the desired results are only obtained after combining both oral and topical medicines with PRP therapy.
